CHRIS MYERS

Hello!

I’m Chris Myers, a professional trail runner supported by Salomon and Ciele. I grew up in Southern California, in the high desert just north of Los Angeles and have been exploring trails for as long as I can remember. From an early age I knew I liked being outside and exploring nature. As I grew, I learned the the more fitness I had, the further I could explore and the more I could see. Becoming distance runner was the perfect way to satisfy this urge to engage with the outdoors. 

I attended college at the University of California Davis, where I majored in art and ran on the club team. I continued running after graduating and eventually found myself toeing the line of my first ultra in 2019. It was an equally wonderful and painful experience, but I was eager to find my next race. I quickly realized that I needed some help if wanted to improve and reach my full potential. I began working with David Roche in 2020 and I immediately saw improvements and formed healthy and sustainable running habits. I haven’t looked back since and I continue to grow as an athlete, coach, and human every day.

Currently, I live in Hollywood California. I frequent the trails of Griffith Park most days and can be found in the surrounding San Gabriel or Santa Monica Mountains on the weekends. When I’m not running, I am a Visual Effects Artist for movies and TV. I can finally give a satisfying answer to all the people who asked me why I was majoring in art and what the hell I was going to do with that degree after graduating. Short answer is, I get to do what I’m passionate about for work.
